We all have at least one strong, independent woman in our lives.
Whether she’s your wife, sister, daughter, mother or your friend.
She could also be your boss, your mentor or your yoga teacher.
Women have been fighting for their rights and making history for centuries, and every year on March 8th, we take some time to celebrate the achievements of women everywhere.
Before we start celebrating, it’s important to understand what this day stands for.
International Women’s Day may sound like a holiday that was created yesterday,
but it actually goes waaaay back.
In 1908, women were tired of being oppressed in the workplace and not having a say in the polls, which led to the New York City march. Women were demanding shorter hours, better pay, and the right to vote. This was an extremely historic movement and the beginning of what we now celebrate as International Women’s Day.
This day is about the accomplishments of women throughout the globe.
